What is EMC?

EMC is the leading electronic music industry event in the Asia Pacific region. Held in Sydney, it is a pivotal, annual destination event for Australian and international creative professionals, curators and tastemakers, and those that are passionate about electronic music business and culture.

By day, EMC offers a two day conference program which covers all facets of the electronic music business, from breakthroughs in technology, to action-focussed discussions around challenges faced by the industry and insights from electronic music’s biggest artists and leading business figures. By night, EMCPlay hosts a number of parties and showcases around Sydney.

The EMC conference program features over 180 speakers across over 40 keynotes, business focussed sessions and panels, workshops, masterclasses, networking events, meetings and industry roundtables. EMC’s content streams include Marketing, Business, Culture, Performance and even Politics.

In 2016, EMCPlay – a series of after dark parties – will showcase the most revered artists of the year as well the electronic stars of tomorrow over one big night in Sydney on Wednesday November 30th.

The full EMC week schedule also includes the inthemix Awards, Australia’s annual electronic music awards night, which is celebrated over a gala dinner held in the ivy ballroom on Thursday December 1st. The week finishes on Friday December 2nd with Musica Copa, the annual Australian music industry soccer tournament that raises money for charity.

When is EMC?

EMC takes place from Monday November 28 – Friday December 2 in Sydney.

Where is EMC?

EMC’s conference and the inthemix Awards takes place at the world renowned ivy complex. EMCPlay will be held at a number of venues in Sydney. Lineup and info on EMCPlay is announced from August. Musica Copa takes place at Kikoff Fraser Park, Marrickville.

What happens on what day?

Conference program is released from August 17.

EMCPlay program announced from September 14.

How much does EMC cost?

Ticket options vary, depending on what type of conference ticket you purchase, (EMC ACADEMY, EMC PRO or EMC PREMIUM), and whether you want to attend one or two days of the conference, or if you just want to head out to enjoy the music at EMCPlay. Tickets start from $99 for the conference and the earlier you purchase, the less you’ll pay. Conference ticket types and prices are here.

EMCPlay tickets starts at $29 and going on sale September 14. Again, the earlier you purchase, the cheaper the ticket. Please check back to the site on September 14 for lineup, info and tickets to EMCPlay.

If I buy a one day pass then decide I want to go both days, is this possible?

Yes. You can upgrade at a later stage, pending availability, by paying the difference between the cost of a 1 day and 2 day pass, plus a $15 registration transfer fee. Click here further information on ticket upgrades.

What if I buy a Day One ticket, and after seeing the program, want to swap that to a Day Two ticket?

You can transfer to another ticket type at any time, pending availability of that ticket type, by paying a $15 registration transfer fee and if applicable, the difference in the cost of the two ticket types. Click here for further information on ticket transfers.

Are tickets refundable?

EMC doesn’t offer ticket refunds, but you can transfer the name on your ticket purchase at any time prior to the event, by paying a $15 registration transfer fee. Click here for further information on ticket transfers.

Am I able to contact other delegates to arrange meetings?

Yes. As an EMC conference ticket holder, you will receive a login to access the EMC online networking database, which will allow you to contact any other delegate attending EMC.

Are there special networking events?

Yes. There are a number of networking events that happen across the week of EMC, including the opening night party, as well as other networking events hosted around the ivy complex daily. Late afternoon on the conference days it’s all about being poolside where a number of networking happens over some cold refreshing summer drinks!

Does the ticket price include travel and accommodation?

No. You will need to book your own travel and accommodation if you are coming from outside of Sydney.

Can I be a speaker at EMC?

We welcome submissions for panel, presentation of workshop ideas.
