EMC 2019’s theme explores THE NEXT NOW, and as part of this exploration we’re bringing you curated playlists that shine a light on the music that is making waves in our community .

First up we have a very special playlist curated by House of Yes Music & Booking Director, David Kiss. A magically diverse journey through the music that brings people together on the dance floors of the New York institution – House of Yes.

  1. Tell us about your selections, why do these tracks stand out for you?
I picked tracks that reflect the diversity and vibe of House Of Yes! People from all walks of life gather at HOY to dance and participate, and so I tried to reflect that in these song selections. I also dropped some tracks from some of our resident DJs, musicians, and friends 🙂
2. Who is your ‘one to watch’ in 2020?

Check out Marc Rebillet. I first found him on an obscure thread on Reddit, and realized I had just missed him performing at my homies’ spot The Deep End, in Bushwick. Using just a loop station, synth, and microphone; he is an explosive live performer. Also check Kat Cunning. She is a long time HOY collaborator and incredible performer and vocalist.

3. What most excites you about the decade ahead?
Seeing what comes out of younger producers. They’ve grown up with access to so much music because of the internet – they’ve got all the influences, easy access to production tools and technology.
